Associated Works

Floor screeds

Damp floor screeds maybe due to a failed or non-existent floor membrane. We will lay a new concrete or screed floor incorporating a liquid epoxy damp proof membrane to overcome the damp problem.

Bridging DPC

'Bridging' of the damp proof course level is a common defect found in our homes. Some frequent causes of 'bridging' are; high external ground levels (raised flower beds, timber decking or block pavior driveways) or external render or plinths that bridge the existing damp proof course and allow lateral penetration of moisture. Our survey will highlight any defects in this respect.

Air Bricks

Sub-floor ventilation to suspended timber floors may be inadequate, increasing the likelihood of fungal decay. Our survey will recommend installation of additional air bricks or floor vents or cleaning blocked existing air bricks.

External Water Repellent

Porous brickwork, particularly on exposed solid walls can allow rainwater to penetrate leaving you with a damp internal wall. In addition to repair works to damaged bricks and mortar joints we will recommend the application of an external silicone water repellent. This process does not seal the wall, it lines the pores whilst still allowing the fabric of the building to breath. This process can also assist in insulating a cold wall by reducing the heat loss, which in turn may help to reduce an internal condensation problem.

External rendering/internal plastering

We offer a complete plastering service and will be happy to provide you with a competitive estimate.
